Via the 'Knitted Wings Project', UBW donate knitted, crocheted and sewn items to hospitals and funeral homes around the UK for babies lost at any stage during pregnancy and during the neonatal period.
By doing so, we hope to not only bring a small amount of comfort to parents and families at this extremely sad time, but we also hope to help raise awareness to health authorities and the general public about these much needed basics.
It is alarming to know that many hospitals throughout the UK, simply do not have the resources to dress or wrap these babies; especially when the baby is extremely premature. It is also hard to imagine parents having no choice but to shop around for suitable burial clothing or pay extortionate prices for such tiny clothing. These are the two, simple things, UBW want to stop from happening on a daily basis.
